Not during the day. At night i believe you have to be 21
Yes, a gigantic screen set up in the parking lot; just drove by it 👍!
State mandate 30 days from yesterday
Meat and three is only at lunchtime.
It looked open earlier today
Yes, I believe dogs are allowed outside and they are open on Sunday. May want to double check on the dog.
Love the Esso! Best place to be on game weekends/game days. If you haven't been go and try the bird dog. As info the esso beer is kind of eh so try at your own risk!
So so cocktails, third tier liquor, great atmosphere
Yummy food and comfortable dining room. Friendly and helpful staff. The burger was delicious. Be prepared to walk it off, lol.
Nice place for a beer and some wing. Decent meat and three at lunch
Stopped in for lunch, kinda busy for a Monday, I had chicken tender salad it was good, my server Brooke was very attentive considering they were quite busy. Had some nice specials, I'll be back.
If I could leave negative stars I would. I ordered the fried chicken and upon arrival I noticed it was soft when eating but thought that may just be how it was cooked. After eating some more I noticed a significantly large portion of the inside was completely raw. Told the server and all they did was take it off but still charged for the rest of the meal. Did not seem sorry at all. Will be contacting the health department if I contract salmonella or another food borne illness! If you value your health, do not eat here!
Legit leaving a review so that you don't have 666 reviews anymore. That being said, this place is off the chain and management has always been awesome.
Food was good but didn't have any fried chicken at the time
Went with a group of co-workers on a Friday for lunch. They were about 60% full. Seating for a party of ten was not a problem. Had the BBQ plate and it was better than expected, quite good actually. Prices were very reasonable. I live a few miles away, and I will go back. I had not been to the Esso Club in about 20 or 25 years, back when it was more of a bar. Now I would say it is a restaurant with a bar.
Great experience! Lots of history, and good food! Nothing fancy, but a must do while in Clemson!
How could anyone not give the Esso Club a 5 star rating??? This is one of the most iconic college bars in the Nation. It's in the shadows of Clemson's Death Valley stadium and is a favorite of sportscasters from every network. I met a large group of my college buddies following an alumni golf tournament and, as we did when we were students, we closed the place down. As the staff began cleaning for the night they allowed us to continue catching up and telling stories rather than throwing us out. Despite the colorful (and often forgotten) history of this bar, it's the employees who make the Esso Club special. If this place ever closed a part of my soul would die!!! Keep up the great work Esso employees!!!
Maybe I went at the wrong time, but I was not a fan of Esso Club. Their tap beer tasted like the taps hadn’t been properly cleaned in who knows how long...or maybe it was the fact that every beer was served in a plastic cup (or both). I was one of 4 people in the bar and so it was far from the raucous atmosphere within the description.Overall not a fan. I think I’ll opt for a different bar next time.
Food was pretty good. Meat and three is a great deal
pricey for bar food !! not impressed with the bird dog ( a menu item ) or the spring rolls. I imagine the college peeps just hangout for beer here. clean and very friendly staff
We had a different college jersey on (besides the areas obsession and worship of Clemson University) and was treated very poorly. A table of 2 couples (30’s) told my kids “they suck” as we walked by...and the server laughed. The service was also poor and it seemed that everyone else was treated ok. This seems to go along with the town and the college, just a rude area and we will not come back to this area or state. Also, the food was subpar either way.
We had the meat and three for lunch and it was delicious! Lots of choices for a great price.
Great atmosphere and a Clemson tradition you don't want to miss out on! Friendly service, delicious food, and ice cold beer!
This is the happenings in clemson.we watch the game an have the best burgers, chicken tenders an etc... we visit very often an we g o away happy an full.come on its great an the good vibes are fablous, its clean an friendly.
An absolutely perfect college bar. Awesome food and a great atmosphere. If you go to Clemson your visit isn't complete without checking it out.
Very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food and wait staff.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, the people were extremely attentive plus really nice ! The food was really good for being bar food ! Overall i had a great experience and would definitely come back !
Always one of my favorite places. Meat and 3 on Sunday is awesome.
Love love love the Esso Club! I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. I personally enjoy the meat & three in addition to the bird dog and BBQ wings. The only downside to this authentic Clemson venue is the parking. During lunch/dinner time parking can become rather complicated. Nevertheless, do not let this prevent you from having a heart, rather inexpensive meal at the Esso Club!
The Esso is a local legend type place. If you come to Clemson it’s almost essential that you stop in for lunch and grab a meat and 3. The atmosphere on game days is pretty hard to beat in Clemson. It’s really just a cool local spot to hang out for lunch or some drinks. I would suggest this place to anybody coming through town especially for a game.
Great service. Never had to wait for our waitress to come to our table to check on us. Esso has delicious food and dog friendly with outdoor seating available. Definitely recommend this local restaurant for a good burger and wings!
What can I say?? It's the Esso great food, good drinks, amazing service!!!
A local staple. If you come to Clemson you have to come here at least once. Great burgers and sandwiches partnered with a beer or cocktail. Live music during the summer and great spot to hang out during football season.
One of the best bars in the US, a must if visiting Clemson
Stopped in, for the first time, after watching my daughter graduated from Clemson. We grabbed appetizers and a drink to take in the moment. Well, I should have come earlier. Cool place, fantastic fried pickles and if you're a college football fan - this is a gem.
Great food! Mac and cheese, collards, fried squash and chicken was really good. Inexpensive also. Even Alabama fans can enjoy a good meal here without fear!
Had the club sandwich, huge portions, great service, will be back!
Stopped by for lunch with my wife. Service and food were good. Will return again next time we're in Clemson.
Food is good but not many students actually hang out here. Mostly alums
I was expecting a lot more from what I heard about the place. The place was not very busy. Our server got us drinks then said she'd be right back to get our order. We had been in the restaurant for 30 minutes and our order was still not taken. I got the bird dog. When I got it the chicken was barely warm so I did not enjoy it. It would be nice if they warmed up the bun too. The table was sticky and had a half eaten pepper on it still from the last group. When we got our food I had to ask for silverware because we did not get any when we were seated. They also had a smaller menu than normal to keep the food wait to a minimum, but I'm not sure it helped much.
Super good food. Fried mushrooms are sooooo good. Great atmosphere.
Always a great place to visit while in town. Food was great as well as the service. Also, it was only a few blocks from the Hotel.
Delicious meat and 3. Good beer selection.
One of the best Philly cheese steak if you like peppers and onions ask for extra but the meat was fantastic with a smoke flavor and the fries was awesome but spicy
Hot As A Pepper enjoyed performing here
Esso is a Clemson tradition. Looks like a dive from the outside, but great home-cooked food & friendly staff.
Great place for lunch surrounded by nothing but Clemson folk. Service was great and so was the food.
We were going on a campus tour at Clemson and went for lunch, our first time at the Esso Club. The atmosphere is very cool, college town funky. The food was good bar style food, about what you would expect. I would go again if the opportunity presents itself.
Great tradition, but also just a great place to hang, grab a cold one, and eat some burgers now.
Haven't spent much time in Clemson, but this place came highly suggested by many friends. Great food and great atmosphere. I had the meat and three for a great value.
Great place for some good food. GO TIGERS!!!!!
Crowded, but worth the stop before a game. Nice crowd of fans, crowded inside, but had no problems ordering something good to drink.
The food is always excellent, the staff is friendly and efficient, and it's always a pleasure to dine at Esso Club.
Not able to make it, no breakfast. I'm giving 5 🌟 simply for the coolness! Historical Gas Station converted to restaurant/Club. Also in the overview it's discribed something like a place of "Roucus" love it, saw it, that I missed this unique eatery.
Great gathering place for casual lunch or dinner where both locals and tourists may be found.
Good food, great service!
